David Taylor
President, Lightning Source, Inc.

David Taylor was named President of Lightning Source Inc. in June 2008.

Mr. Taylor joined Lightning Source U.K. in June 2003 as Business Development Director and was named Managing Director in December 2003. In June 2006 he took on the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Global Sales, Lightning Source Inc.

Mr. Taylor has 24 years of experience in the U.K. and international book trades in a wide range of senior management positions including on line bookselling, retail bookselling and library supply. He is a former Director of Blackwell’s international library supply business. He served on the Booksellers’ Association of the UK and Ireland’s Council for several years and is a former Chairman of the College and University Bookseller’s Group and the Internet Bookseller’s Group, the latter of which he founded. He is a regular speaker at book trade conferences and has published a number of articles on the impact that new technologies are having on the book trade supply chain. He is a member of the Society of Bookmen.

Mr. Taylor has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Reading, England. He has also completed a Diploma in Management Studies and an MBA. He lives in Freeland, Oxfordshire, with his wife Caroline and two sons, Harry and George.
