Shana Kimball currently serves as interim co-director of the University of Michigan Library’s Scholarly Publishing Office (SPO), where she manages digitalculturebooks, the Library’s open-access imprint with the University of Michigan Press; coordinates the development and publication of SPO’s monographs, specifically a partnership with Open Humanities Press; and serves as managing editor for the Journal of Electronic Publishing. She has presented at industry and academic conferences on the emerging role of the academic library as a publisher, and has a strong interest in the intersection of social media and scholarship.
