What’s it like to read your books on a Kindle? Can consumers put your
content on their Sony Reader? Could you stand to read War and Peace on
an iPod Touch? In this session, we’ll review the current set of
popular e-readers with a focus on the reading experience: ease of use
and purchase, navigation, fonts and layout.
Liza Daly is the CTO at Safari, where professionals go to learn the technology, business, and leadership skills they need to have a remarkable career. Liza came to Safari via an acquisition of her digital publishing companies and was given a mandate to build a modern engineering team to transform the business. She has been a software engineer, entrepreneur, and technical manager at both startups and larger organizations. She’s made her home and career in the Boston area and is active in the digital art and open source communities.
Keith Fahlgren is the Director of Engineering at Safari Books Online. Previously, he worked at Threepress Consulting, O’Reilly Media, and was the co-developer of Ibis Reader.
Anusha has led Plastic Logic’s market research and user studies, exploring the reading behaviour and needs of customers that have informed the design and development of Plastic Logic’s first eReader device, winner of the DEMOfall ‘08 “People’s Choice Award".
Prior to joining Plastic Logic, Anusha was at Microsoft and other niche software firms. She holds a BA (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, UK and a CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
