What’s it like to read your books on a Kindle? Can consumers put your content on their Sony Reader? Could you stand to read War and Peace on an iPod Touch? In this session, we’ll review the current set of popular e-readers with a focus on the reading experience: ease of use and purchase, navigation, fonts and layout.
Liza Daly is the Vice-President of Engineering at Safari Books Online and an experienced software engineer in digital publishing. In 2012 her companies Threepress Consulting and Ibis Reader were acquired by Safari. Liza is a strong advocate for experimentation, agile development, and innovation in publishing.
Keith Fahlgren is the Director of Engineering at Safari Books Online. Previously, he worked at Threepress Consulting, O’Reilly Media, and was the co-developer of Ibis Reader.
Anusha has led Plastic Logic’s market research and user studies, exploring the reading behaviour and needs of customers that have informed the design and development of Plastic Logic’s first eReader device, winner of the DEMOfall ‘08 “People’s Choice Award”.
Prior to joining Plastic Logic, Anusha was at Microsoft and other niche software firms. She holds a BA (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, UK and a CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
