Nicholas Smith has more than 20 years of experience in education and instructional technology. He is the COO of Agile Mind, a company dedicated to providing instructional and assessment tools and professional services to middle and high school students and teachers, primarily through the use of web-based technologies. Prior to joining Agile Mind, Nicholas was Vice President of Technology Product Development for Cengage Learning. He joined Cengage in 2007 through the acquisition of Aplia, Inc., a leading provider of online homework for higher education, where he served as Aplia’s president, guiding the company from its start-up years through its acquisition. Previously, Nicholas managed the development of online learning materials for Pensare, Inc., a web-based professional training and development company and led projects for SRI Consulting. Nicholas also taught middle school for more than a decade. He has a master’s degree from Brandeis University.
