Traditional copyright law, much of which dates to the advent of the printing press, is constantly being put to the test as people find new ways to use and re-use existing creative content. Publishing itself is changing right now, all around us, and the change for book publishing to e-content, for example, will be as significant as the web was for news publishers. It’s all about rights, and, if it is all about rights, then it is all about copyright.

Copyright Clearance Center, the world’s leading provider of copyright licensing solutions, will instruct participants about copyright and its nuances as well as discuss pertinent and timely questions such as;

•Are new media tools creating new problems or opportunities for publishers, authors and other creators?

•What are the complexities of monetizing content?

•How is book publishing changed by the digitization of content?

•Where do publishers and authors go to gather rights and permissions for the re-use of content?

The future of digital content in publishing is dependent on finding the delicate balance between what is legal, what is logical and what is right. It’s all about rights.
