Philippe Le Hegaret heads the W3C Interaction Domain which produces
frontend Web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, SVG, WOFF, or Web APIs.
He is currently a participant in the Web Performance Working Group and
organized the W3C workshop on Video on the Web in 2007. Until July 2008,
Philippe lead the W3C Architecture Domain, which produced the W3C Core
technologies in the area of XML, Web Services, and Internationalization.
He is a former Chair of the Document Object Model (DOM) Working Group
and co-edited some of the DOM specifications.

HTML, the hypertext language for the Web, is no longer restricted to Web sites but is being in widely different context. EPUB, an open e-book standard, has been using XHTML 1.1 but HTML5, the upcoming new version of HTML, will impact all HTML-based applications. This session will explore some of the new features in HTML5, in particular those can be applied to publishing. Read more.
