Mastering Kindle Fixed Layout eBooks
With the addition of the 8.9” Kindle Fire HD tablet, Amazon has opened up new options for complex fixed layout content in the Kindle ecosystem, especially non-fiction. This workshop will teach you the entire process of creating fixed layout titles for the Kindle platform, including:
- Best practices in HTML and CSS code structure.
- Techniques for designing fixed layout ePub files with the Kindle format in mind, and making the conversions work as easily as possible.
- How to code children’s eBooks, including text magnification options.
- How to code comics and graphic novels with Panel Views.
- How to code non-fiction titles that will look good on all of the Kindle Fire devices.
- Best practices for designing files that look good on the eInk Kindle devices that also support fixed layout content.
The workshop will be code-intensive, and is intended for eBook developers and designers. It will cover all of the most up-to-date options and best practices in this ever-changing field with real-world examples.
